KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Committee) recently held a Samwad interaction at its Mumbai head office, where Chairman Manoj Kumar uttered confidence that the third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government would push the ‘New Khadi of new India’ to bigger heights.
According to a press release from KVIC, “A broad roadmap has been created to lift up Khadi from a local to a universal platform.” The commission is vigorously engaged in a variety of initiatives intended to improve the skill development of artisans. These programs look to promote success in the area of village industries and encourage employment opportunities.
Moreover, KVIC is getting ready to begin the Silai Samriddhi Yojana scheme, intended at empowering women and boosting employment prospects via skilled laboru. Through its varied range of programs, KVIC emphasised its task in nurturing economic growth in both rural and urban areas.
Kumar maintained PM Modi’s vision of realising a ‘Developed India’ by 2047. KVIC aims to add to this goal by strengthening its efforts to secure the Khadi Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in every Indian village.
KVIC shared a noteworthy increase in the sale of Khadi products, leading to enhanced financial conditions for rural artisans. Furthermore, there has been a notable 233 per cent increase in artisans’ wages over the last decade, rendering the sector ever more attractive as a feasible career option.
