Continuing its support to Indian textile and apparel companies to become more sustainable, The Good Fashion Fund (GFF), has made an investment (loan) of US $ 2 million in KKP Fine Linen Private Limited (KKPFL).
Fashion For Good was the organisation that started the GFF and the initiatives is a partnership which is between FOUNT, the Laudes Foundation and The Mills Fabrica. Rabobank also serves as the Fund’s lender. From Namakkal (Tamil Nadu), KKPFL is a prominent Indian exporter of bed linens and cosmetics.
The investment will support the company’s investment in the installation of an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in its upcoming wet processing unit for griege fabric in SIPCOT. A state-of-the-art biological ETP is being installed by KKPFL which will also have a ZLD system. The processing unit has a daily installed capacity of one lakh metres.
Prior to this the Good Fashion Fund has supported Indian textile and apparel companies like Sri Kannapiran Mills with US $ 2.5 million and Pratibha Syntex with US $ 4.5 million in terms of loan.
Sathesh Kumar Nallathambi, MD, KKPFL sais that in the ongoing journey of the company towards a greater sustainable future, this strategic collaboration represents a moment that is pivotal.
Bob Assenberg, Fund Director of Good Fashion Fund said that the aim of this partnership is to demonstrate and accelerate the potential of the home textile segment’s sustainable manufacturing practices.
