India’s number one apparel export company Shahi Exports has been known for its strong focus on skill development and welfare of its workforce.
The same was reflected in the recent Hunarbaaz Award of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
Jhumuri Prashan, Rajeswari, Anusaya Bhoi, Shabnam Khatoon and Shabnamasha Tuti received this award.
As per the company, these are specially-abled women who were trained at these sewing skills training centres. These centres are run by Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Ministry of Rural Development in collaboration with Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), Government of Odisha and Jharkhand State Livelihoods Promotion Society.
“We welcome these young trainees and wish them all the best for their future at Shahi,” the company said.
The ‘Hunarbaaz Puraskar’ of DDU-GKY and Self-Employment Training Institute has been instituted by National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development.
DDU-GKY’s Hunarbaaz Puraskar Samman programme, organised by the Ministry of Rural Development, was held on the occasion of Amrit Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Ministry awarded Hunarbaaz Puraskar to selected 66 youths from 12 states of the country.
