The partnership will aid the retailer to organise delivery of its products that will be marketed from its debut store in the country.
The Sweden-based home furnishing retailer is looking to use vehicles which run on electricity for the delivery process across the nation, a senior official from the company was quoted as saying.
As per the statement issued, the company will initially use electric vehicles as up to 20 per cent of the total deliveries fleet and will later increase the numbers to 60 per cent.

As a company, we have determined plans to adopt electric vehicles among our operations and in our initial year in India,” he added.
Notably, IKEA is all set to foray into the Indian market with its first store which is expected to be operational next month (July). Gati also issued a press statement where it elucidated that the whole scope of the partnership is a combination of contract logistics, last-mile distribution, and reverse supply.
