Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body BGMEA and leading global ICT infrastructure provider Huawei have joined hands with a view to taking steps towards the adoption of green energy in the country’s garments sector.
As per reports, both the entities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard recently even as under the agreement, Huawei and BGMEA will work together to support the garment factories to become green/environment-friendly.
The CEO of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited, Pan Junfeng and BGMEA President Faruque Hassan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations in Dhaka recently.
Reports further added, as per the agreement, Huawei will set up solar power plants at the BGMEA enlisted factories.
