A massive fire broke out on 13 May at the third floor of a garment factory located in the Kot Lakhpat area in Lahore.

The impact of the fire was so devastating that it reduced all the garments and other valuables inside the factory to ashes in no time.

The moment fire started in the production unit of the factory, where huge stock of garments were stored, the factory administration and officials informed Rescue 1122.

Rescue 1122 immediately sent 10 fire fighters as well as several vehicles to control the fire. However, by the time the fire personnel reached the area, the entire factory was engulfed in flames. After hectic efforts and struggle that lasted for 7 hours, the fire fighters were finally able to control the fire.

Reportedly, it took a long time to control the fire as an inflammable material that was present in the factory kept spreading the fire fast. However, there were no reports of any injuries or casualties as the fire team had timely got the factory building evacuated.

Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the local police is investigating the mishap.
