International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the globe on 21st June and Indian garment factories also celebrated since many factories organised various yoga related activities on this day. Interestingly workers as well as mid and senior level staff also participated in these activities.
An important aspect of this is that factories are motivating their workers and staff to make yoga a regular practice so they can have a health life.
Many companies organised yoga day and inspired their workforce to make yoga a habit.
San International, a Gurgaon-based leading apparel exporter organised a proper session with yoga experts and guided its workers and staff about the importance of yoga. The company has also invited Anurag Gehlot, Assistant Director, Health andSafety, Labour Department to motivate the workers.
Umesh Yada, HR Head of the company told Apparel Resources that “For us, yoga day is not a one day occasion, our efforts are to convey the importance of yoga to work workforce so they can do it daily. We shall continue our efforts.”
Many companies are also taking the route of social media to highlight the importance of yoga for their mid-level managements professionals as their Linkedin and Facebook pages has inspiration messages for yoga.
Not just factories but even various trade bodies and Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) are also on the similar track and promoting yoga as Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) celebrated International Yoga Day at Gateway of India, Mumbai.
