The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has certified another Bangladeshi garment factory, Fashion Makers Ltd factory as LEED-certified.
As a result, there are now 215 green factories throughout the nation.
Fashion Makers Ltd factory located in Gazipur secured a platinum rating, with a score of 87, according to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The USGBC takes into account several factors, including waste management, energy, water, and transformation performance, before awarding a LEED certification.
Platinum is awarded to the top performers, with gold and silver following.
With 81 platinum-rated and 120 gold-rated green garment buildings, Bangladesh leads the world in this regard.
Since 2001, the country has been getting the certificate.
