Bangladesh’s apex garment makers’ body, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has announced its continued support for garment factories in establishing Model Enterprise Clinics, which aim to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the workers engaged in the garment industry.
An initiative of the BGMEA in its commitment to improving the health and well-being of garment workers, these clinics are designed to ensure access to quality healthcare facilities within the factory premises, promoting the welfare of workers and their families.
By establishing these clinics, the BGMEA aims to address the healthcare needs of workers, reduce absenteeism due to health-related issues, and create a healthier work environment.
These clinics offer medical consultations, treatment for common illnesses and injuries, basic diagnostic services, and health education programmes.
The BGMEA, in collaboration with various stakeholders, including Government agencies, NGOs, and healthcare providers, facilitates the establishment of these Model Enterprise Clinics.
They provide guidance and support to garment factories to set up and operate these healthcare facilities effectively.
