The Board of Directors of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, has named Peter Templeton as the organization’s new President and CEO. Peter has served as the Institute’s interim president and CEO since September 2018 and now will be joining the Institute full time.
The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute is a non-profit organization, that educates and empowers manufacturers of consumer products to become a positive force for society and the environment, helping to bring about a new industrial revolution. The Institute administers the publicly available Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard which provides designers and manufacturers with criteria and requirements for continually improving what products are made of and how they are made.
Prior to this, Peter has very well served his roles as Senior Vice President of the US Green Building Council and as the first president of Green Business Certification Inc. This wealth of expertise in increasing the reach and impact of market transformation activities around the world will stand the Institute in good stead as they look to accelerate the global adoption of sustainable production and consumption practices through delivery of the Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard.
In addition to this the, institute has also approved the election of three new members of the Board of Directors including Dr. Paul Anastas, Teresa and H. John Heinz III Professor in the Practice of Chemistry for the Environment at Yale University. Scot Horst, founding CEO of Arc Skoru, Inc. and former chief product officer for USGBC. Dr. Christine Lemaitre, CEO of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
