
The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) and Women & E-commerce (WE) Trust have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the BMCCI Secretariat, solidifying their strategic alliance to empower and assist women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to expand throughout the nation.
Several notable people graced the signing ceremony, including Women & E-commerce (WE) President Nasima Akhtar Nisa and BMCCI President Shabbir A. Khan.
BMCCI Executive Secretary Hasanur Rahman Chowdhury, Executive Director of WE Irin Parveen, and Director of WE Imana Hoque Jyoti were present at the occasion.
In accordance with the terms of the MoU, BMCCI and WE have set forth particular goals to assist women-led SMEs. These goals include offering tools for financial management and business analysis, setting up programmes for product diversification training, promoting WE’s products that are appropriate for women-led SMEs, and expanding access to information and financing across various industries.
BMCCI’s roles and responsibilities include providing various services and facilities to prospective women-led SMEs in WE, mentoring and advising entrepreneurs on commercial law, and facilitating their access to financing. Additionally, BMCCI will facilitate training on packaging, export literacy, and drafting legal documents, as well as increasing the opportunities for women-led SMEs in Bangladesh and Malaysia to access markets.
By utilising their respective expertise and resources, both organisations are committed to fostering an environment that is favourable to the growth and success of women-led SMEs, ultimately contributing to the economic empowerment of women throughout the country. This collaboration represents a significant step towards the betterment of women-led SMEs in Bangladesh.
