Bestseller’s Object brand has collaborated with Evrnu, a US-based fabric innovator, to introduce a capsule collection crafted from a regenerative fibre. This fibre, Nucycl, is created from cotton-rich textile waste, offering an opportunity to promote circularity and reduce waste. The partnership has resulted in three styles that embrace sustainability and are an alternative to utilising virgin tree pulp.
Nucycl stands out for its soft, cotton-like texture while being absorbent, breathable, and durable. The crucial aspect of this fibre lies in its ability to be regenerated through a repeated process. Stacy Flynn, co-founder of Evrnu, highlights that Nucycl sets itself apart from other fabric recycling methods by producing new fabrics of comparable or superior quality to the original virgin fibre. This feature presents the textile industry with a sustainable alternative that doesn’t compromise performance, reducing dependence on virgin resources and transforming textile waste into valuable materials.
Bestseller had previously invested in Evrnu during its early stages through Invest FWD, their investment arm. Camilla Skjønning Jørgensen, the Innovation Manager at Bestseller, underscores their focus on systemic changes within the fashion industry, emphasising the necessity of collaborations with solution-oriented innovators and brands to drive progress.
The resulting capsule collection offers garments like a dress, shirt, and trousers, boasting clean lines, easy silhouettes, and monochromatic prints, embodying the ethos of circular fashion.
