With the aim to accelerate green practice and sustainable growth in the export-oriented and manufacturing industries in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank, which is the central bank of the country, has introduced refinance fund even as it signed a Taka 5,000 crore green fund deal with 32 banks in the country.
This is as per media reports, which added the Sustainable Finance Department of the central bank has organised the participation agreement signing ceremony recently, in which was present the Governor of the central bank, Abdur Rouf Talukder as the chief guest even as Deputy Governor Kazi Saidur Rahman along with Director of Sustainable Finance Department Chowdhury Liakat Ali, Executive Director Md Khurshid Alam, and other officials of the concerned department were present on the event.
Chowdhury Liakat Ali, the Director of Sustainable Finance Department of the central bank and respective Managing Directors or Chief Executives signed on the dotted lines on behalf of their respective organizations.
