Adidas launches FW ‘18 collection made of recycled polyester, organic cotton

The Germany-based sportswear giant, Adidas has launched its latest fall/winter (FW) collection for this year that will be made completely using recycled polyester materials. The latest range curated by designer Stella McCartney will also include up-to-date technology such as Climaheat and BOOST.

Notably, the collection is made up using eco-innovative material that includes recycled polyester, Parley’s Ocean Plastic, ECONYL yarn and organic cotton.

The athleisure wear retailer says that with animal-inspired pieces created to equip female athletes, the accompanying message serves as a reminder that everyone can do their bit to protect the world around them.

Stella McCartney said that the apparel brand is at the top of female sports performance and style wear. “Combining Adidas’ technology such as Climaheat, curated to lock in warmth, and BOOST, that offers athletes with added energy returns, it is time to be the difference that we want to see,’ she added.

Reportedly, the sportswear company claims that over 50 per cent of its apparel and one-third of its footwear in FW18 are manufactured using eco-innovative and recycled materials.

Furthermore, Adidas’ new campaign features a new international ambassador Ming Xi, a Chinese model. Xi on her collaboration with the brand said that “I am really inspired by Adidas’ desire to make a difference and its commitment towards sustainability. I can’t wait to get involved in. I feel honoured to be part of this initiative.”
