The March retail sales of 2012 looked promising, but “one month does not make the whole year”. The possible fall of the EU, or certain countries like Greece, Spain, Italy, may depend on the outcome of the elections in France.
I state that I am not an economist, but the so-called ‘Pun-dents’ (Pandits), seem to be allover the place with their projections, forecasts and reasoning. Our global economy has so many different types of political philosophies, and cultural differences, it is “Mindboggling”!
There are many raw commodities that are thebasis of so many industries,so as to base one’s theories totally on past happening is not in my opinion valid in this day and age.
Most of our commodities have been put into a very large GAMBLING CASINO, that it sometimes looks like the odds of making good business decisions, for the small and medium size business entrepreneur is just that “a Gambling Guess”, with odds as to the percentage of success vs. failure always changing.
Know your market! Know your competition! Know the facts! This is your only chance of putting the odds in your favor.
It is still competitive cost, quality of the specifications, and ON-TIME DELIVERY, that will be the key points of doing business profitably.
UNCERTAINTY will be here for the year 2012… But it is still competitive cost, quality of the specifications, and ON-TIME DELIVERY, that will be the key points of doing business profitably.
We in the USA are in the midst of electing a President and the candidates have completely different views as the type of government we should have, the same issue is happening in France, so therefore until these elections are over, and seeing which direction they will try to establish their political direction, UNCERTAINTY will be here for the year 2012.
Communications have changed our desires and wants so fast, that no matter at what level standard of living exists for people now, and all can avail themselves of at least knowing what does exist. I believe producing desired product made by people, will create a much better society for more people, then the selling off of raw materials, which is usually controlled by a few.
For international trade both Import/Export, it does take politicians to build the bridges of commerce, and it should also be part of their responsibility to keep these bridges of commerce open. BUT, it is the business entrepreneur, academic education/training, working with the financial sector, to maintain the traffic of commerce flowing across these bridges.
I saw Japan do it after WW-II, Korea after the Korean War, Mexico transitioning into this commercial economy, even China (still Communism politically), but moving into commercialism), and others moving in the direction of creating employment and education for their people, and not just selling off their raw commodities for maintaining the rich’s for the few.
We are into the 2nd quarter of 2012, and I see uncertain curves in the road ahead, so do “YOUR HOME WORK”, and plan accordingly.
