
Jharkhand (India) Chief Minister Raghubar Das has said the textile industry of the state will generate around 2,00,000 job opportunities in the next two years.
Leading textile and garment manufacturers of the country like Arvind Mills and Orient Craft (OC) are investing heavily in the state.
OC has already established a garment manufacturing factory in Jharkhand. Meanwhile, Arvind Mills is investing Rs. 400 crores for its first unit in the state. The facility is expected to create around 10,000 job opportunity.
At the 2nd edition of Momentum Jharkhand, a Global Investors Summit (GIS), 210 MoUs worth Rs. 3.1 lakh crores were signed and OC’s was one of them.
The OC factory has created 12,000 to 15,000 jobs in Jharkhand.
Over 11,000 Indian and 600 foreign delegates from Russia, Korea, Belarus, China and other countries attended the summit.
Now as the 3rd edition of the summit is set to roll out the carpet this December in Bokaro, the state is expecting more companies to invest there and thereby create jobs.
The GIS is an exceptional platform and has marked the presence of Jharkhand on the world map as a leading investment destination, Das said.
The agenda of the 3rd summit is to promote business avenues in and around Bokaro.
Furthermore, the CM said that the Government also took an initiative to train women under the Entrepreneur Sakhi Mandal scheme. This will increase engagement of women workers across various industries.
Under the scheme, the State Government of Jharkhand provides a loan to the women of rural areas to make them self-reliant. The aim is to train over 4,80,000 women from around 32,000 villages.
