Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills Limited has set up a fourth spinning mill to produce value-added and premium fancy yarns in the cotton producing hub, Amravati. Taking the total spindle capacity of Suryalakshmi Cotton to 87,000, the new mill has 26,000 spindles and has been set up at a cost of Rs. 131 crore with fully automated, state-of-the-art imported spinning technology in place. Annual revenues of more than Rs. 150 crore are expected from this new plant as fancy yarns fetch better margins. The plant also has a 25 MW captive power plant and the yarns produced in this plant would be used for captive consumption in its denim division.
