Syed M Tanvir, Director of Pacific Jeans Ltd. has set a growth target of 12-15 per cent a year for the company. The manufacturer of premium jeans exports products to the US and about 20 countries in Europe is now also focusing on unconventional markets in Asia like China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore as there is scope for value addition in these markets. Tanvir further informed that the company is also aiming to expand its reach in Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and Russia in future. Established in 1984, Pacific Jeans has eight production units employing around 27,000 people. It produces 40 million pieces of jeans a year, exporting to more than 30 countries. The group has an annual export turnover of US $ 360 million. The ‘Pacific Jeans Innovation Centre’ is continuously experimenting on innovative fits, finishes and fabrics in denim. The company’s collaboration with highly regarded designers from American, European and Japanese brands has established the company as a world class denim jeans manufacturer.
