Olimpias has opened water treatment plant, which can recover up to 100% of the processed water from textile dyeing plant, in Europe. The company mentions, “Before renewing the water treatment plant, the textile factory in Osijek, Croatia, used 1,600 cubic metres per day of water where only 10.5 per cent was coming from recovery treatments. And today, because of this new innovation, the proportion of the recovered water has improved to about or 1,000 cubic metres per day.”
The new treatment plant includes many advancements – membrane bioreactor, resin bleaching filters and softeners filters along with a reverse osmosis system which produces water that is technically perfect and stable, with very low values of hardness and Total Dissolved Solids.
Gianni Zanella, CEO of the company said, “By revolutionizing the treatment of the processed water we can significantly reduce water and energy consumption resulting in an important positive impact on the environment, costs savings and improved finished product thanks to the higher quality of the reused water.”
Olimpias is a unified group and a leader on the European textile scene. The company’s roots are in the industrial heartlands of Italy, where around 1,000 of the group’s total workforce of 1,500 are employed.
