Detroit Garment Group Guild (DG3), a local nonprofit organization is launching an industrial sewing program, the first of its kind in the state of Michigan. The Makers Coalition, Henry Ford College, Michigan Technical Education Center, Lear Corporationare partners in this program and bring the program to fruition. Under this six-weeks long program trainees will receive the training necessary to work in the rapidly-growing cut-and-sew production industries and they will get 180 hours of in-class and hands-on experience. Training will be provided by local industry experts. The DG3 hopes to add evening classes in the future.
