The LYCRA company, which is a prominent fibre and technology solution provider for apparel and personal care industries across the world, opens a new Advanced Textile Innovation Center (ATIC) in Nanhai, China today.
The Research & Development (R&D) laboratory spread over a large area of 4,500 square metres, is a significant step in enhancing LYCRA’s R&D capabilities.
The scientists working at the centre will help mills, brands and retailers across Asia as well as western companies with local sourcing offices, create innovative fabrics and apparels using LYCRA’s branded textile solutions.
Some of such textile solutions of the company used to create innovative fabrics and clothings are LYCRA HyFit ® fibre, LYCRA ® fibre, THERMOLITE ® fibre and COOLMAX ® fibre.
The centre also boasts of latest commercial equipment to simulate real world manufacturing processes including knitting, weaving, dyeing and finishing. This will help the company provide matchless service to customers with consistent quality.
Additionally, the research team at ATIC will closely work with customers to help them identify opportunities. The team will also initiate efforts to develop and commercialise new polymer, fibre and textile technologies.
