Acting as the marketing wing of the Chinese Group Fountain Set, the Bangalore based FS Asia Marketing has recently launched their weft knit fabrics. The company is supplying its fabrics to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India and is nominated by Tommy Hilfiger, Walmart, H&M, Columbia, Target and Carters to name a few.
Recently, FS Asia Marketing has expanded its product range and is now producing and exporting woven and weft knit garments. It’s well equipped to offer niche products with substantial embellishments, for quantities as low as 500 pieces per style. Additionally, the company offers 100% cotton yarns and weft knit greige fabric. Both yarns and greige can be offered in organic yarns and BCI yarns from reputed mills in south India.
The company CEO Cana Naidu, an IIM Ahmedabad alumni says, “Earlier we were just dealing in knits but we found that a lot of our customers were demanding woven fabrics so we have started sourcing woven fabrics also from China.
There is a lot of business in Bangladesh and now one cannot sell mere basic fabrics there as they have started producing value added garments.”
Talking about changing buying patterns, Naidu says, “Now buyers are placing smaller orders first; while earlier it used to be 70% first buy and 30% repeat, now it’s just the reverse – 30% first buy and 70% repeat, spread over a number of repeats depending upon which product moves at the retailing end. Naidu is now also looking at yarn sourcing for Fountain Set too.
Fountain Set is one of the major circular knitted fabric manufacturers in the world, providing vertically integrated operations in fabric knitting, dyeing, printing and finishing, with production facilities in China, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
