Panipat – an Indian textile hub known for its home furnishing prowess, is set to receive a boost with a new common facility centre envisaged by the country’s Union Government. The facility will serve as a common place for the region’s textile machinery industrialists to acquire training, knowledge and technology about the manufacturing of textile machinery, help them upgrade their skills with advanced technologies and usher in a new era of technological advancement for indigenously produced textile machinery, shared Vijay Kumar, Director, MSME Development Institute (Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Karnal.
The total investment for the project is estimated to be US $ 2.9 million out of which US $ 1.8 million will come from the Union Government and the balance from the State Government and manufacturers of textile machinery.
