Knitline Apparels Ltd. is planning to come up with a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka.
In this endeavour, the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, better known as BOI, has signed a deal with the firm.
The deal was signed by Susantha Ratnayake, Chairman, BOI and Riz Onies, Chief Executive Officer, Knitline Apparels Ltd.
A delighted Riz commented “We want to create a truly sustainable system with zero inventory loss, zero leftovers and zero waste!”
As per the signed deal, Knitline Apparels will be manufacturing knitwear including dresses, pullovers, beanies and sweaters in the country.
And it shouldn’t be tough considering the firm plans to use latest Japan-based technologies in the new plant to manufacture its knitwear products.
The plant, spread over an area of 12,000 square feet, is expected to provide jobs initially to 80 people, with the numbers increasing gradually.
