Zara, Spain’s most popular fashion chain, will initiate online sales in Thailand later this month. After Singapore and Malaysia that were granted the option to shop online earlier this month, the service will extend to Thailand and Vietnam in the next few weeks. A pop-up note on Zara’s mobile application informed Thai customers of the upcoming online sales.
The fashion retailer can no longer stay off the booming e-commerce market in India. Later this year, the Spanish fast-fashion brand will start selling online in India – one of the world’s fastest growing market for e-commerce. “In 2017, Zara expects to launch online sales in India,” Inditex confirmed in its year-end statement.
Considering the fact that India’s apparel market will reach US $ 200 billion by 2025, according to a study by consulting firm Wazir Advisors, the move by the fashion retailer to expand in this market looks at capitalizing on the opportunity.
Additionally, Inditex commented: it will open a 5,000 square-metre flagship Zara store in Mumbai, which will be its largest store in India in addition to the 21 stores in that market.

Inditex further said it expects a good rate of new store openings in 2017, as in past years, and would continue its strategy of opening flagship stores in leading shopping districts and absorbing its own small outlets into nearby big stores.
