The French sustainable sneaker brand Veja continues to expand its global retail footprint. Veja unveiled its inaugural monobrand store in London and a second location in Brooklyn, New York.
Situated at 45 Monmouth Street in Seven Dials, Veja’s first London store occupies 140 square meters in an area characterized by a central square surrounded by seven streets, connecting Covent Garden to Soho. Collaborating with London-based interior designer Deidra Hodgson, the store’s design incorporates locally sourced materials and 5,000 French-made bricks. Additionally, the store houses a cobbler’s workshop, mirroring Veja’s stores in Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin, Madrid, and Brooklyn, offering repair and cleaning services for sneakers and shoes of any brand.
Four years since the opening of its first New York store in Nolita, Veja introduced its second US location in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Spanning 213 square meters, the store’s interior was curated by architecture studio Office JDY, preserving existing elements such as a bare brick wall, concrete flooring, and a wood-beamed ceiling while incorporating wooden counters and plaster display cases. Notably, the store features Veja’s inaugural shoe repair service in the USA.
Founded in 2005 by Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion, Veja produces its sneakers in Brazil and recently established a production plant in Portugal. In 2022, Veja reported revenue of € 180 million, having sold over 4 million pairs of shoes worldwide. Veja’s distribution network includes its own monobrand stores and partnerships with 3,000 multibrand retailers globally.
