More worries for apparel, fashion and other non-essential retailers in England!
The Government has extended Tier-4 restrictions in England, which will lead to the closure of more non-essential stores all across the country.
Retail hubs where Tier-4 restrictions have come into play include Nottingham, Birmingham and Greater Manchester.
London and many parts of East and southeast England are already in Tier-4, while areas like Liverpool have moved to Tier-3.
Notably, the areas moved to Tier-3 can now keep their stores open though they will have to strictly follow all social distancing rules imposed by the Government.
The extension of Tier-4 restrictions has immediately come into effect and all non-essential stores – including those selling apparels and fashion accessories – have been forced to close from today (31 December).
Importantly, footfall in Tier-4 regions fell by over 75 per cent in this year’s Boxing Day compared to last year. That’s a big fall!
Christmas and Boxing Day sales this year were badly hit due to poor footfall and now with this latest announcement, 2021 is not going to begin in any better way for the retailers in England.
