
Some of the leading retailers in the US are geared up for the holiday season as Target plans to hire 100,000 workers while Macy’s, is looking to hire 38,000 workers. The latest name in this is Amazon. The online retail giant has plan to hire 250,000 employees across the US for the holiday season.
These job openings, available in hundreds of cities and towns, include full-time, part-time and seasonal positions in fulfillment centers and transportation roles,
The company said that over the last five years it has added over 800,000 jobs. Last year Amazon has added 150,000 employees for the holiday season.
Amazon Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations John Felton said , “The holiday season is always a special time at Amazon and we’re excited to hire 250,000 additional people this year to help serve customers across the country.”
It can be mentioned here that Amazon has consistently increased hourly wages every year, investing over US $ 10 billion in hourly pay over the last five years.
