With effect from 22nd September 2024, Target Corporation has named Jim Lee as its chief financial officer and a member of its leadership team.
According to a press release from the company, Lee’s new responsibilities include tax, risk, investor relations, treasury, internal audit, accounting, financial planning and analysis, finance skills, and corporate development. Michael Fiddelke, the Chief Operating Officer of Target, is succeeded by him.
Brian Cornell, chair and CEO of Target, said, “Jim will be a great addition to our leadership team as we focus on driving Target’s roadmap for growth.” Jim’s experience in strategy, business development, and corporate governance, together with his customer-centric leadership, round out his qualifications.”
Lee joins PepsiCo with over 25 years of expertise in strategy, finance, team building, and culture leadership. He headed the finance teams for PepsiCo’s worldwide business, which generated over US $ 35 billion in revenue, and handled the company’s global tax, treasury, investor relations, environmental, social, and governance reporting operations in his most recent role as deputy chief financial officer.
Before then, he oversaw financial planning and analysis as well as the finance departments for supply chain, business development, franchise bottlers, brand and innovation, and franchise. He held the position of senior vice president, finance, at PepsiCo Beverages North America.

The company further stated that over his career, Lee has overseen multinational teams in a variety of finance and business development roles throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. He has also held the position of CFO for a number of PepsiCo’s foreign areas. In addition, he led PepsiCo Beverages North America’s largest sector’s transformation through business development and mergers and acquisitions as chief strategy and transformation officer.
Throughout his tenure at PepsiCo, Lee has also held positions on a number of boards, including those for Celsius Holdings and Tropicana Brands Group.
