Sportswear brand Fred Perry has bought the trading business of British shoe manufacturer Geo J. Cox Ltd. and will thus add the footwear brand George Cox in its portfolio.
The acquisition is seen as a part of Fred Perry Holdings’ business strategy with access to worldwide niche distribution network.
The deal was, reportedly, done for an undisclosed sum.
Meanwhile, in a statement released to media, Fred Perry shared that Adam Waterfield would continue as MD of George Cox and Steve Gollings will remain the operations head.
Notably, George Cox will continue to run its premium Goodyear Welted production unit in Northamptonshire.
Welcoming the investment, the footwear brand said that it is an opportunity for them to further develop as a global brand and expand their reach to large number of people across the world.
The 68-year-old sportswear brand Fred Perry was founded by British tennis star by the same name, and is today known for its shirts, T-shirts, track jackets, shoes, bags and more.
