The upcoming festive season has had major e-commerce players in India gear up for massive sales.
Snapdeal, in this regard, has announced 3 mega sales this season with the first one commencing from 29 September to 6 October. The other two sales will be held during the later half of October, catering to the customers’ Diwali shopping needs.
The e-tailer expects 85 per cent of its sales to come from non-metro cities.
The sales have been designed in a way to cater to the Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets as the company sees a huge potential here with the aspiration of the middle class and smaller towns growing faster than the metro cities.
The sale will offer huge discounts on products across categories, such as home decor, fashion apparel and accessories as well as fitness. To celebrate the festive season, customers can also avail offers on decor and lighting collections.
Besides existing offers, customers can avail an instant discount of 25 per cent when using PNB debit and credit cards.
Snapdeal has over 5 lakh sellers associated with it who will reap the benefits of the growth in business volume through the sale. It will also provide an opportunity for the unorganised retail sector to grow faster.
Amazon and Flipkart have also announced ‘Great Indian Festival’ and ‘Big Billion Days’ sales, respectively, which will be held from 29 September to 4 October. The two companies have cumulatively created over 1.4 lakh temporary jobs across supply chain, last-mile connectivity and customer support in preparation for their festive sales this year.
