With the ongoing pandemic and subsequently the festive-wear category on hiatus, fashion brands and labels across India have been focusing on ‘essentials’ and ‘work from home’ collections to keep the business growing and to counteract the fallout from the months of national lockdown due to COVID-19.
Following the same pattern, luxury menswear designer label Sarah & Sandeep has launched its own range of ‘comfort essentials’ that is catching the attention of Mumbai’s influential shoppers.
The label launched its one-of-a-kind drop ‘SOPOR’, which is a fresh take on a multi-utility sleepwear collection for men and women.
This unisex drop supersedes the conformity of basics’ and improves the wearer’s personal style at home. The ‘SOPOR’ style is an absolute must-have for fashion forward individuals’ all needs – from video conferencing with friends or reading a book before bed time.
The latest collection has the signature S&S geometric detailing combined with contemporary prints that give character to the styles while offering the smoothness of the satin fabric.
Each look under the collection is handcrafted in India and can be personalised by getting your initials engraved on bespoke PJs.
The line expands to printed pyjama sets, robes, shorts and accessories like eye masks, face masks and slippers that are fashioned from a variety of fabrics and weaves such as silk, cotton, viscose, velvet and satin. The colour palette consists of dreamy navy, teal, burgundy, beige and more.
The drop by the label was visualised and captured using décor elements from luxury home decor brand Mason Home, which is inspired by minimalist Scandinavian design that blends perfectly with Sarah & Sandeep’s new-age design philosophy.
Talking about the drop, Co-founders Sarah & Sandeep Gonsalves, said “When faced with the prospect of spending incessant weeks at home, we wanted to design a collection that can straddle both public and private space, and can be debonaire enough for both genders. The drop has turned out better than we imagined, and we believe that ‘comfort essentials’ will have a higher demand over the next few months because these styles also make for fantastic gifts.”
