British fashion chain Primark is set to infuse € 50 million into expanding its Italian retail presence, planning to open five new stores as part of the substantial investment.
Luca Ciuffreda, Director of Primark Italy, unveiled this development in an open letter, outlining the brand’s strategy to augment its network to 20 stores across the region within the next few years.
The expansion will introduce four stores in new cities for the company, such as Livorno, Cosenza, and Genoa, along with a second store in Turin, where Primark initiated its retail footprint last year.
Ciuffreda emphasised that these locations will prioritise the creation of inclusive environments, integrating Italian architecture and retail innovations. Notably, the introduction of self-service checkouts will mark a pioneering feature in the country’s Primark stores.
“Opening new stores across Italy is about more than just another store. It is about creating employment in local communities. It is about growing our business and reaching more customers. It is about bringing more sustainable fashion at affordable prices to even more customers in Italy,” Ciuffreda stated in the letter.
