In a strategic move following the departure of Fabio Zambardi, the Prada Group has undergone a reorganisation within its design studio. Zambardi, who had overseen design at both Prada and Miu Miu, left a significant void after his 40 years of dedicated service. To fill this gap, the fashion group has adopted a new structure, appointing Luigi Preziotti as the design director of Prada. Simultaneously, they have confirmed Dario Vitale in his existing role as Miu Miu’s design director.
Luigi Preziotti, a seasoned professional who joined the group in 2002, has an extensive background in Prada’s women’s ready-to-wear collections and special projects. In his new role, he will report directly to Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, focusing on design development, runway shows, and activities related to the brand’s image and identity. This strategic reshuffle aims to ensure the seamless evolution of Prada’s design vision and creative endeavours.
Similarly, with his remarkable tenure at Miu Miu, Dario Vitale has been instrumental in the label’s success. He has played a pivotal role in shaping Miu Miu’s positive results, with retail sales soaring by 21 per cent in the year’s first half. Vitale’s expertise and creative vision have contributed significantly to the brand’s growth. His reputation continues to ascend, and he will continue to lead design efforts at Miu Miu.
This restructuring comes ahead of Miu Miu’s highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2024 collection unveiling in Paris on 3rd October, signalling the fashion house’s commitment to innovation and creativity in the ever-evolving industry landscape.
