The new Nike Unite store, spanning 10,000 sq.ft., has been officially launched in Blanchard Town Centre by the renowned American sportswear brand, Nike. Having secured a ten-year lease, Nike is extending its presence in Ireland by opening its latest store in Blanchard Town Centre, adding to its existing Nike factory outlets in Dublin and Kildare.
The store showcases a community wall adorned with Dublin athletes and local landmarks, reflecting Nike’s commitment to community engagement. In this regard, Nike has announced partnerships with Special Olympics Ireland and Foróige to actively participate in local initiatives.
Foróige, a prominent youth organisation in Ireland, engages approximately 50,000 members and 5,500 volunteers, overseeing the operation of clubs, programs, and cafes.
Nike Inc., headquartered in Oregon, has disclosed its latest quarter revenue, amounting to US $ 12.4 billion, marking a 14 per cent year-on-year growth. The net profit for the quarter amounted to approximately US $ 1.2 billion, indicating an 11 per cent decline compared to the previous year. The decrease in gross margin by 3.3 per cent can be attributed to several factors, including markdowns to sell off inventory, increased costs of raw materials, and elevated expenses related to freight and logistics.
According to Sharon Walsh, representing Falcon AM, the asset manager for Blanchard town Centre, the recent opening of the Nike Unite store demonstrates the resilience of Ireland’s retail market and the exceptional retail space available at the centre. Walsh also noted that the occupancy rate remains high, and there has been a notable increase in footfall since the beginning of the year.
