As part of its increased dedication to its brick-and-mortar business, New Look plans to invest £ 3.3 million in renovating and enhancing its stores in the Greater Manchester area.
Over the next 12 months, the fashion retailer will test a number of initiatives in its 20 local locations in order to establish a model for future enhancements throughout the rest of the estate.
Enhancing store designs and layouts, modernising technology, and providing coworkers with better training are some of the projects.
A “significant portion” of the investment, according to New Look, will go towards aesthetic improvements that will enhance the in-store experience, enhance product merchandising, and better reflect the retailer’s brand identity.
The retailer said that in addition to offering a more regionally specific product strategy, its stores will have interactive displays that highlight online exclusives as well as a larger selection of clothing and shoes that customers can peruse in-store and order for next-day collection.
Additionally, it is integrating new technology into the back-end systems of the stores to operate a better returns strategy and a new next-day click-and-collect service that it promises will make shopping easier for customers.
Investment in team resources, such as “enhanced” training opportunities for shop workers, is also part of the trial.
New Look CEO Helen Connolly said, “This investment programme is an exciting step for us in how we can continue to elevate the shopping experience for our customers, while bringing them fantastic quality products and creating future growth for New Look.”
The brand’s retail director Elaine Cartwright added, “With over 20 stores in the surrounding area, Manchester is the perfect location for us to trial these exciting new initiatives and turn up the dial on our omnichannel offer.”
