Even as the Bangladesh e-commerce sector continues to go through some trying times following reports of alleged malpractices by some entities, a new e-commerce platform, namely Walcart Limited, was launched in the country recently.
As per reports, this new entity is launched by none other but Walton, top local electronics and home appliance manufacturer and exporter in Bangladesh even as it, reportedly, aims to capture a major share of the growing online business.
“…we will sell goods in 20 categories primarily,” reportedly, maintained Walcart Managing Director Sabiha Jarin Orona even as she, reportedly, underlined Walcart will gradually sell all kinds of products targeting all kinds of consumers.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, reportedly, opened the e-commerce platform in a programme held at Walton’s corporate office in Dhaka recently.
