N Brown Group, a British fashion behemoth, is reportedly getting ready to eliminate a number of positions at its Manchester headquarters as part of an ongoing transformation initiative.
Although the precise number could not be verified, Drapers, the publication that broke the story first, estimates that about 35 positions could be at risk of being eliminated.
Commenting on the speculation, a spokesperson for N Brown told the media outlet, “As we undertake our business transformation programme, our operating model continues to evolve and this has resulted in a small number of roles being put at risk of redundancy.”
The N Brown Group has been steadily expanding its transformation in recent months, focusing on the introduction of new websites and technology aimed at improving product descriptions and decreasing returns.
These accomplishments were highlighted in the group’s most recent financial report, which stated that in the eighteen weeks leading up to 6th January 2024, it saw a 9.3 per cent decline to £ 150.2 million, despite an improvement in product income.
N Brown expects its adjusted EBITDA to stay the same in FY ’24, with “slightly softer revenues” to be more than compensated by continued “margin discipline.”
