Gerd Muller, Germany’s Development Minister has approved the claims against the overseas production practices of Adidas. At the Textile Round Table Initiative, the Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development stated that the citizens of the country should boycott the use of Adidas products as they are being manufactured in extremely intolerable conditions of Bangladesh sweatshops. The minister went on to say that the workers making these products are paid insufficiently and the buildings they work in are not safe for them. He also called for a new ‘Green Button’ to indicate the environmental and social credentials of textiles and clothing sold in the German market.
