Marks & Spencer (M&S), the British fast fashion brand, has expressed its plans of opening a new 40,000 square feet store at Ravenhead Retail Park, St. Helens.

This comes immediately in the wake of shutting down of one of its previous stores in St. Helens. The retailer plans to now relocate to an area with a larger space in the same town. The new store that opens on 14 March 2019 will feature a complete and wide range of apparels and home items in addition to having a foodhall and a cafe.

M&S added that while the old employees will be transferred to the new store, a number of new jobs will also be created.

Hammerson, which operates the Ravenhead Retail Park, expressed delight at M&S’s decision to choose Ravenhead to enhance their presence in the town.

The fast fashion brand is in the midst of a significant turnaround scheme wherein the focus is on investing in shutting down and re-organising its retail outlets.
