Motorsport Australia and custom teamwear partner S-Trend have joined forces to make significant steps in apparel sustainability in 2023. S-Trend, an Australian apparel company, took various initiatives throughout the year, one of the well-known being introducing the STRenew sustainable teamwear.
S-Trend’s latest fabrics are exclusively derived from technical, sustainable fibers transformed from recycled plastic bottles. In 2023, over 670,000 plastic bottles were recycled into teamwear apparel for all merchandise partners, including Motorsport Australia.
Motorsport Australia supported this initiative leading to a collaborative effort that transformed 8686 plastic bottles into traceable and certifiable eco-performance polyester. This eco-friendly material was then utilized in uniforms for administration staff and volunteer officials.
Beyond the STRenew initiative, S-Trend achieved Gold certification under the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) program, highlighting its commitment to ethical production standards.
