The Manhattan Vintage Show, one of New York’s major expos for vintage resale, has announced a new relationship with TheRealReal, the leading online marketplace for real, premium second-hand products. The news comes ahead of the expo’s Winter Show next month, which is expected to attract at least 20 new merchants.
Led by Amy Abrams, the owner of Manhattan Vintage, the trade fair’s first relationship with the online marketplace represents a significant step forward in the global resale of premium vintage products. Through the new relationship, The RealReal will display a selected selection of goods from its newly formed Rare Finds category during the Winter Show, bringing customers an assortment of its most renowned and one-of-a-kind vintage items.
Designers represented in the collection include Gucci by Tom Ford, Christian Dior by John Galliano, Comme des Garçons, Maison Martin Margiela, Roberto Cavalli, and others. In addition, as part of the new relationship, Abrams will showcase the ‘Tastemaker Edit’, a collection of her favorite rare vintage products, online at therealreal.com on 29th January, in an effort to emphasise the synergy between online buying and the in-person vintage experience.
“We are ecstatic to be working with The RealReal to show even more the influence and strength that vintage can have on fashion globally,” Abrams said in a statement about the collaboration. “This collaboration and the addition of over 20 new vintage retailers indicates an exciting destiny for vintage design, full of exploration and sustainable styles.”
The 2024 Winter Show will widen its scope, appealing to both vintage enthusiasts and the global dealer network, with more than 20 new entrepreneurs debuting their collections at Manhattan Vintage. The next Manhattan Vintage will take place from 2ed-4th February in New York’s Metropolitan Pavilion.
