The first MAAP LaB concept store outside of Australia will open in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in late 2023, according to plans released by Melbourne-based cycling equipment company MAAP. The company has launched a hiring spree throughout Europe in line with its ambitions for the new store as it seeks to increase its retail footprint while continuing its engagement in the European cycling community.
The LaB idea, which is an acronym for ‘Life Around Bikes,’ captures MAAP’s relationship with the neighbourhood cycling scene. After opening its first brick-and-mortar concept store in Melbourne, MAAP hopes to increase its presence there by opening a new LaB this year.
Oliver Cousins, MAAP Co-Founder, commented on the next steps for the LaB concept. “Since launching our Melbourne LaB last June, the response from the community here has been humbling.”
In addition to the brand’s larger European and worldwide teams, MAAP is now hiring for a variety of positions in Amsterdam. Along with numerous other positions over the next 12 months to support MAAP’s investment in the European and US market, this also includes a new UK / European Marketing Lead.
The announcement follows previous reports that the company has invested in talent across several important departments, including Marketing, Design, Innovation, and Business Development, as part of its expansion strategy.
The company has also revealed Specialised Concept Store Harrogate as its first retail partner in the North of England in the UK.
