A group of leather workers, upset over Louis Vuitton’s management failure to meet wage expectations, reportedly staged protest at the French fashion house. The hour-long walkout on Wednesday started with employees gathering in front of their various production facilities across France at 7:30 a.m. Later they were invited for talks. This is the second labour protest at Vuitton in a span of 15 years.
The company had reportedly offered a gross raise of Euros 30 a month or about US $ 31.95 for every employee which is far lower than the € 55 workers requested by the unions’ representatives. Company Managers had also offered raise of an additional € 10 to € 20 a month for 80 per cent of workers, but that too didn’t go well.
