During the festive season in India, sales typically double, and this year is expected to reach US $ 5.9 billion in the first week of festivals like Durga Puja. A survey shows that 63 per cent of consumers plan to spend on fashion, up from 56 per cent last year, with a growing shopper base from Tier-2 and beyond cities contributing to a 2.5 time increase in fashion shoppers over the last four years. Notable brands, like ‘W’, a womenswear label and TATA Cliq, have already launched festive collections collaborating with celebrities and campaigns to cater to this surging demand.
