Kohl’s, the American retail giant, plans to revamp its business after a dull holiday season.
And as a part of its revamping measure, the retailer will be laying off 250 workers as well as the entire layer of regional store leadership roles.
The change in the business approach will enable Kohl’s to not only streamline communications, but also end the overlap of management positions. While confirming the same, Jen Johnson, SVP of Communications, Kohl’s, said that Kohl’s will not be closing any offices or stores.
The retailer, reportedly, has said that the affected workers will be given severance package and outplacement services.
Kohl’s same-store sales slumped by 0.2 per cent during November and December 2019, missing estimates and leading the retailer to lessen its expectations for the full year.
