Following the footsteps of her fellow Victoria’s Secret model, Candice Swanepoel, Joan Smalls has designed her own denim collection. The sixteen-piece line for LA-based label True Religion includes traditional denim and contemporary separates. The model said, “So excited to announce my first ever design collaboration with True Religion.” Branching out into brand-related work is something of a career trajectory for a Victoria’s Secret muse. Prior to Swanepoel’s launch last month, fellow stars including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Alessandra Ambrosio have successfully turned to design with their most successful senior, Gisele Bündchen, currently ranking as the highest-paid supermodel in the world, owing to her multiple brand endorsements and collaborations.
