JCPenney, one of the largest apparel and home furnishing retailers in the US, will open a new store in New York next month. The retailer has announced to inaugurate its store at Kings Plaza in Brooklyn on August 10.
Kings Plaza will be the second location in Brooklyn to have a JCPenney store after the company opened its first store at the venue, in 2014. The location has consistently been one of its top performers for the brand, informed Joe McFarland, executive vice president and chief customer officer at JCPenney.
The upcoming store will have the latest JCPenney brands and concepts showcasing apparel for today’s modern and casual women. Customers can shop for brands including Arizona, Stafford, Xersion(TM) and Cooks; along with exclusive brands such as Collection by Michael Strahan(TM) and Lionel Richie Home(TM. Sought-after national brands such as Nike, adidas, Levi’s and Carter’s are also available at the outlet.
“The idea of having a second store in Brooklyn shows that we still believe in the power of brick-and-mortar retail and speaks volumes about the vitality of this dynamic and bustling borough,” concluded McFarland.
JCPenney has been taking several initiatives to attract consumers. Recently, it teamed up with singer-songwriter Lionel Richie for an exclusive home collection while it launched Frank + Lulu, a whimsical new brand of bedding and decor for the kids to target the young mothers.
It also introduced Fanatics Inc., an online retailer of licensed sportswear, sports equipment and merchandise, in its stores.
