Notwithstanding latest reports pertaining to alleged anomalies and malpractices in Bangladesh e-commerce sector to correct which the Government has taken various steps, the prospects of this rapidly-growing sector are now attracting the foreign firms, which now wants to enter the Bangladesh e-commerce sector.
“…I learned of several Japanese companies which are thinking of entering e-commerce business…,” reportedly, maintained Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh while adding in the future some Japanese companies will be visible through e-commerce platforms in Bangladesh.
Addressing a session on ‘Ecommerce & Digital Business – Flourishing Sector to Lead the Future’ recently, ITO Naoki, reportedly, said this even as he underlined that on checking about some potential challenges with some Japanese business people here in Bangladesh, the Japanese envoy, reportedly, got to understand that logistics (as timely delivery is very crucial for the success of e-commerce) and facilitation of e-logistics was very important even if another challenge pertains to shoddy or counterfeit goods, which he felt should be excluded from the market as these do not give confidence to the system while adding other challenges are a secure online payment system, regulatory framework and coordinated efforts.
I really hope Bangladesh will see a better future for the e-commerce in the near future, reportedly, stated ITO Naoki to wind up on a positive note.
