China gives fresh lease of life to this Italian sportswear label!
Fila, the renowned sportswear brand, has recorded an impressive revenue of US $ 3.37 billion from China in 2021.
Thanks to the fast growth of sportswear market in China as well as the strength of the local supply chain, Fila has been able to transform itself into a multi-billion revenue brand.
Also, Fila’s efforts of embracing latest trends and collaborating with globally renowned designers haven’t gone waste.
Yao Weixiong, President, Fila Greater China, said that Anta Sports designers have been travelling to the Fila museum in Biella (Italy) on a regular basis, and over 100,000 sketches and product samples are archived.
The designers then, reportedly, create collections featuring the kind of style appreciated by Chinese consumers.
Here it is important to state that Anta Sports – a prominent Chinese sport apparel and equipment group – had acquired Fila’s franchised brands for mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao back in 2009.
Moving forward, Fila can also gain big from China’s well-established supply chain, and therefore has set up its own production facilities in Jinjiang to ensure manufacturing efficiency.
Founded in 1911, Fila has offices in 11 countries across the globe.
